Packing

I would like to present a math story problem....

Steve and Darcie and traveling to China to adopt a baby. They have 3 suitcases, and the total weight of all of their suitcases, clothing, diapers, medicine, toys, etc. equals 90 lbs. How can Steve and Darcie distribute the weight across 3 suitcases such that they do not exceed the Chinese limit of 44 lbs. per person?

Oh, and there is a time limit to this problem (their flight leaves in 16 hours). You are allowed to work on this problem with someone else, but without screaming at your partner.

Begin work.

Our Blog Kick-off

Many of you have asked for updates of our trip to China, and I have received a lot of great advice about staying in touch. Many suggested a blog as the easiest and best way to give updates and pictures during our trip. We thought we would give it a try.

Our flight leaves tomorrow (Jan.1) at 12:30. We head to Beijing for about a day and a half of sightseeing, then off to Nanning for Gotcha Day, Jan. 5th.
